Free-swimming tool for pipelines inspection
A free-swimming inspection tool that detects leaks and gas pockets and maps water and wastewater pipelines. This tool assesses pressurized water and wastewater pipelines in a single deployment, without disrupting regular service. The SmartBall tool provides utilities with pipeline condition data to make informed rehabilitation and management decisions on a pipe-by-pipe basis.

Features
Highly sensitive acoustic sensor can locate very small leaks and gas pockets in water and wastewater pipelines. Actively tracked throughout the entire inspection. Easy-to-deploy in live pipelines through existing features and hydrants. Navigates tees and vertical sections of pipe and operates in low flow conditions. Mapping confirms the location of underground pipelines and their alignment with other critical assets.
The main goals achieved during the inspection:
- detection of leaks;
- detection of gas pockets;
- determination of the pressure profile;
- determination of the temperature profile;
- GIS cartography (option);
- determining the material of the pipeline, the length of the pipes, the joints, the presence of patches and connections to the pipeline.
The results of the inspection are:
- a detailed report on all parameters measured during the inspection;
- description of all identified anomalies;
- GIS map with the plotted pipeline and coordinates of the detected anomalies;
- top-priority recommendations from leading experts of PURE Technologies.
