Compliance with high hygiene standards
Spektron Industrial models are specifically designed to meet the highest disinfection requirements in the food industry. The internal surface of the units, aseptic connections with a perfectly ground surface and a robust stainless steel body ensure high quality products in a single design. The systems are also suitable for sensitive applications in the pharmaceutical and microelectronic industries. The touch-controlled OptiDose system monitors operating conditions in real time, including flow rate, UV transmittance and intensity. Using proven logic, OptiDose control regulates energy consumption to the minimum to meet dosing requirements.
To improve economy and maximize sustainability, Spektron units use low-pressure, high-power Ecoray UV lamps and Ecoray ballasts. When using the variable power setting, Ecoray technology provides excellent energy efficiency in all working conditions. In dimming mode, they provide energy savings of up to 20%. The Ecoray lamp is more energy efficient than medium pressure lamps, further reducing energy costs. Thanks to the reduced mercury content, Ecoray lamps are more stable and environmentally friendly, which reduces the carbon footprint.
Ecoray UV lamps have a guaranteed lifespan of up to 14,000 hours, reducing operating costs.
Spektron UV systems are available in four basic sizes, allowing them to be adapted to objects of different capacities. Provides maximum operator comfort with minimum maintenance. The EcoTouch controller integrates all sensor signals, alarms, SCADA connectivity, and OptiDose closed loop control to simplify monitoring and control. The UV monitors and controls provide variable power output (stepped dose adjustment) to ensure high performance with minimal energy consumption at various production parameters.
Spektron equipment has a wide range of applications: it covers a wide range of domestic and drinking water supply and industrial water treatment of stations with a capacity of 1000 m3 / h, special water treatment for microelectronics and pharmaceuticals.
The systems provide an optimal hydraulic regime to obtain the necessary disinfection results, which creates uniform velocities throughout the reactor chamber. Special Spektron flow switches ensure equal velocities for different conditions in the pipe network. Smaller Spektron models have CrossMix flow switches, while larger systems have an OptiCone switch.
The control cabinet and ballasts provide variable UV power. ECORAY ballasts and an advanced management and control system, vary control, which provides a variable UV output of the lamps, which changes according to the actual quality and consumption of water. This option avoids overdosing and also reduces power consumption and lamp wear. ECORAY lamps provide the most economical dim light. The user interface alarm system provides remote diagnostics and management.
Powered automatic wiper system keeps lamp bulbs clean and eliminates the need for manual lamp cleaning. The glass cleaning system works without the use of chemicals, which eliminates the risk of drinking water contamination if the seal is lost.
The new models expand the Wedeco Spektron UV series to 14 systems and increase the maximum system throughput to 5000 m³/h. The disinfection systems use Ecoray's 600W low pressure amalgam UV lamp technology to reduce the number of lamps by approximately 60 percent, minimize maintenance and reduce energy costs.
“Previously, for flow rates over 1,000 cubic meters per hour, medium pressure systems were mainly used, because the number of lamps for alternative low pressure systems was quite large,” she says. “Wedeco Spektron offers a small number of lamps, but all the benefits of a low pressure, high power system such as energy efficiency and longer lamp life. The Wedeco series is suitable for any drinking water treatment plant, regardless of local piping conditions, energy costs or local legal requirements.”
Closed vessel reactors contain UV lamps separated from the water by a quartz tube that allows UV radiation to pass through. Cleaning mechanisms protect lamp sleeves from contamination. UV flowmeters and in some cases ultraviolet transmission analyzers monitor dose delivery by the reactor.
