PipeDiver PURE

Free-swimming tool for pipeline condition assessment

The PipeDiver platform is a free-swimming pipeline condition assessment tool with ultrasonic and electromagnetic technologies, video surveillance, that is easy to deploy and operates while the pipeline remains in service. This tool provides utility owners with pipe wall condition data used to make rehabilitation and management decisions on a pipe-by-pipe basis.

Water & Wastewater Treatment

Features

Provides comprehensive pipe wall assessment data for pressurized water and wastewater pipelines. Accurately pinpoints areas of pipe wall distress. Effectively inspects metallic and concrete pressure pipe. Covers long inspection distances in a single deployment.

The main goals achieved during the inspection:

  • obtaining the most detailed information about the state of the pipeline for further short-term and long-term management planning;
  • determination of the residual thickness of the pipeline wall, as well as the differences between the inner and outer surfaces of the wall;
  • localization of defects with their subsequent visualization in 2D and 3D for analysis;
  • determination of changes in geometric shapes;
  • video fixation of the condition of the internal walls of the pipeline during the inspection.

The results of the inspection are:

  • a general report on the progress of the inspection and the condition of the inspected pipeline;
  • GIS map with plotted pipeline and all numbered pipeline sections;
  • description of the state of each section with reference to the coordinates;
  • display of sections with existing defects in unfolded 2D and cone 3D view (360°). Visualization of anomalies is performed according to the type of heat map;
  • graph of pipeline performance as a whole
  • the relationship between the percentage of residual thickness of the pipeline wall and the operating pressure in the network;
  • short-term and long-term recommendations on the pipeline infrastructure management strategy from leading experts of PURE Technologies.
