All devices of the network (counters) are connected in parallel by a two-core twisted cable and connected to the central device that controls the operation of the network - the M-Bus master. In addition to meters, analog or digital sensors (for example, temperature, pressure, level, etc.) can be connected to the network through appropriate adapters. All network devices are powered by the M-Bus master via the same pair of wires.
In the simplest case, the survey can be carried out via a personal computer connected to the M-Bus network via an RS232 <=> M-Bus master (CMeX11S or CMeX13S series). More intelligent masters can independently poll the counters at a given time and forward the data to remote PCs using a built-in modem (CMe2100 series) or get an Ethernet output from the master's M-Bus output (CMe3000 series), etc.
